Using forums for visibility: how to do it without getting posts removed
I’ve been testing a few niche communities as part of my outreach, but forum culture varies a lot. In some places, even a helpful link gets edited out, while in others it stays—sometimes it’s clickable, sometimes it turns into plain text, and occasionally it looks like it’s “not there” unless you’re logged in.

I’ve had the best results when I treat forums like a place to build credibility first, then add a link only when it clearly supports the answer. If your reply is complete on its own, the URL reads like a reference instead of a pitch. Over time that approach tends to “train” moderators to see you as a contributor. I picked up a few practical patterns from link building forums and it made my posting style much calmer and more consistent.
